@ What is the name of your shop? 45 alley?
Great idea to separate the picture sleeves! Nice work!
Thank you!
Made in China.....
Totally agree re: a SUT vs a jfet step up. The SUT really does add a bit of magic to the sound that a jfet doesn’t seem to be able to necessarily do. I’ve heard a few really nice phono stages come very close, and I’m actually using one that when I heard sounded fantastic with my LOMCs. Thanks for the vid. I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate it. 🔊😊🎶✌️
Let me make it 100% clear that I’m not saying this in any kind of combative or argumentative manner. Only sharing things I’ve learned throughout the years. I’ve no doubts about you or whoever does your retips ability to do a fantastic job. I asked asked my retipping guy, who’s retippied many carts with amazing results for me over the years about my Denon DL103r, and his response was exactly this: “Okay, so as you know I have repaired many of those and the Ogura PE is a fantastic diamond for that. The cartridge really opens up. I can also recommend the Gyger 2 or the Gyger S over the Micro Ridge. The Micro Ridge is a great diamond but it’s so sharp. I really think it was meant for high compliance cartridges like the Shure V15-VxMR but of course it’s been installed on low compliance cartridges where the slightest handling mishap will cause the MR to gouge a divot into your grooves. Boron/Gyger 2 is tough to beat. I have received many love letters for this combination.” Hey, maybe we’re use the sane guy 🤷♂️ I see you didn’t mention the micro ridge stylus profile, so I’ve gotta feeling were likely on the same wavelength. ✌️🔊😊🎶
Not a patch on Technics
Wiim Pro ,Denafrips DAC ,Bryston Headphone Amp and LCDX headphones….were good 😌
The majority suffer from latency issues, crack, bang, pop, delay. Once the gremlins are in good luck, it affects all price tiers. Gremlins go for phones, active speakers and high end separates. If you get the gremlins out firmware updates may let them in again.
Marketing Bs
wrong
How much
So basically you are saying they stream using WiFi or wired Ethernet port vs a phones Bluetooth connection, right ? What if I wired my phone to the streamer usb-C out to HDMI in on a streamer? So not using Bluetooth? Have you tried the New Wiim ultra?
You can tell this guy has never used this spin cleaner. Just getting paid to promote this. Not to say, Spin clean is a good product for what it does at that price. But this guy has no clue.
What about using the streamer remote control is it the same as using your phone remote control
Awesome!
Yet the tank is full of dirty water ??? I can’t say Id want to put my records through a load of filth. It says you can clean up to 50 records in a session. That water must be really grim even after a dozen spins ? 🤷♂️
I have got to say there is no wrong way to stream your music. If you can hear it and it sounds good to you and to others you got it nothing more needs to be done or said about it.. Just connect the sound to a receiver or a preamp which thing goes to your speakers and if it sounds clear and clean all you got it there's no reason no wherewithal to think that you're doing it the wrong way. . Come on guys stop selling the sell.. I stream from my phone all the time because the signal goes into my AVR the sound is boosted by the AVR cleaned up and then goes directly to my speakers so it really doesn't matter how you stream your music it still comes out great
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone still have the drivers that were on the CD saved somewhere and could share them? I built a new PC and it doesn't have a physical drive anymore... so I can't update mine and I'm stuck with no audio at all, lol...
so refreshing to see a brick and mortar in Pittsburgh, as an owner of 3 otari's that is really good to know about the service
This is nonsense. If you stream from your phone to a good dac you’ll get great sound. Of course the rest of the chain matters too. A stream is a stream is a stream. Absolutely nothing inherently better about a dedicated streamer. This video is marketing hooey.
You'll use your battery streaming from a phone.
I’m sitting in the smallest room in my home and I’m streaming Oh boy am I Streaming 😅
you are wrong. go listen to a real stereo
Not to be rudely, modified streamer Inexpensive & huge improvements
I cant stream music from the Cambridge streamer with-out using the phone either from, StreamMagic or Tidal connect.
Your phone only acts as a remote. Like for a TV. It doesn't play music just selects it.
then you don't know what you bought or how to use it.
@@mbvx7 I do. Azur 851N.. I got it for it's DAC. And to stream music. All the songs are on the phone, i dont use lossy bluetooth. I could stream from another device if it was compatible.
If only I could just drive over to you guys wow. I’d very much love to not only hear but feel those gorgeous speakers. The big one on the corner wow
Love Cambridge Audio stuff BUT the lack of native Amazon Music HD support is a deal breaker for me. I never understood why integration with Amazon Music HD is so hard to come by for several of the better manufacturers whereas WiiM, Arylic and other value oriented end streamers are able to figure it out. SMH...
How does the 888 compare to the forte iv next to it?
They are both excellent values in the same price point, but one is horn loaded and one uses a dome tweeter...so the are two different types of sound.
So we are streaming incorrectly Because we are not using Cambridge equipment . 😂🤣😆 Shameless shilling accompanied by a click bait title .
These are not as good as Oppo…who wants a little screen
Yes, just Venmo fifteen hundred dollars to me and I’ll start doing it the “correct” way.
I'll take 2 of each 😊. Well 👍 done. Say hello to Paul 👋. Greg
Hey Greg! Nice bumping into you again out in the wilds .of the interwebs! Hope you’re doing well, brother. 😊🎶✌️
@ hi Nick. With Rachel bowing out I haven’t ‘seen’ you very often. Thanks for the greeting my friend
You need a nice amp & speakers first off. I use a tablet hard wired to my amp. Some, IMO, is overkill. They are very nice but i can't see a reason for a streamer as i mostly play vinyl & CDs. I'm just saying what works for me. Spotify is more than enough for my application.
So explain what the difference(s) are, instead of just giving a blind marketing pitch. Tell me how a high-end DAP or phone does a worse job than X Cambridge streamer.
In the case of phones they resample the music stream. Generally to a lower quality (bit rate). Bluetooth and AirPlay compressed the stream before sending it to the output device thus lowering the quality. Dedicated streaming like the CXN100 stream directly from the whatever music service you're using without downsampling it. So for example, if you are using Tidal, the streamer will stream via Tidal Connect and so you're getting the original data quality from Tidal. Doing this via a phone means the stream goes through the phone first and gets downsampled before it gets to the output device. Hope that helps.
Best scenario to let the streamer "grab" the music files from your network or from your streaming service of choice... while your mobile device acts as a remote control.
With EverSolo DMP-A6 streamer, I find the very best quality result is selecting music direct from the streamers screen, rather than the phone app. How to describe sound difference? Streaming direct from streamer as described, it sound like you are listening to a CD. For years I used my computer to a dac, then ophone to dac via wifi. The sound the the streamer just sounds clearer, more defined, bigger. Most importantly, because there is no compression using, say, Qobuz this way, the sound projects far better into the room, ie you will feel more surrounded by the music rather than separated from it. Hope this helps.
Phones (and computers) have a lot more functions going on than streaming. All those other functions add digital noise to the system. Dedicated streamers not only don't have those other noisy operations, they also are built to isolate the noise they do generate from the signal of interest.
@@jameskanuth4274 Well, this is little to no concern now, except for those focused on it.
Don’t know why this popped up on my feed but I’m from Detroit who’s going to be in PA next week about an hour away. I’m going to try and stop by if I can! Looks like a cool store!
Need to dream up a trip to Pittsburgh to audition these. I bought a pair of Triton 1s and a pair of HArbeth Monitor 30.1s from Mark - great service and decent price. Can ship (or at least used to be able to…).
Where's Kris Kardaz?
Chris retired at the end of 2023. He drops by from time to time to visit, so you still may bump into him while shopping on any given day!
Been eyeing this system.. very attractive.... The spin base speakers seems have a ton of positive reviews
Where's Chris?
Chris retired in December of '23. He often pops in for a visit, so if you're shopping, you may still be able to say hello!
Cool cool. Will definitely visit if I'm in the Pittsburgh area. ❤

Good day Craig, can you use the xlr and rca out simuntaneously? Want to use studio monitor and subs to it.cheers
You must be related to Paul? Sound of Market/Jazz Sound in Philadelphia was similar in audio/music in one place although music was upstairs and audio was down.
Thanks for asking, Autumn. Yes: Mark's father, Paul Mawhinney, was the longtime proprietor of Record Rama Sound Archives. Mark's brother, Paul, works alongside Mark at Music To My Ear. The family boasts a long, rich legacy of providing great hifi shopping experiences to the Pittsburgh region and beyond.
Definitely a first rate shop. Great people. 👍 👍👍
Thank you!
I know this was a long time ago but I really enjoyed seing Madonna as the thumbnail

Belt drives without quartz speed ctl have terrible wow & flutter. Every 50 hrs of rotation the belt changes tension. At 500 hrs use at least 25% of belt tension is compromised.
All solid picks
